To start a chapter of the World Parkinson's Program in your practice, hospital or healthcare institution is very simple and easy. Each chapter is usually individual or institution operated and is located in the clinic, private practice, or inside a healthcare institution providing care to Parkinson's disease patients. Any HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL or a HEALTHCARE INSTITUTION can start a chapter by keeping a supply of Parkinson's disease brochures, CDs, Handbooks of World Parkinson's Disease in the most common languages spoken in that region and providing this material to the patients with Parkinson's disease during the clinical visits to educate them. Neurologists, internists, general practitioners or family physicians , physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists, psychiatrists, geriatricians, physiotherapists, speech therapists and other healthcare professionals providing any level of care to Parkinson's disease patients in private practice or working in a healthcare institutions are strongly encouraged to open a chapter of World Parkinson's disease in their location of practice. The World Parkinson’s Program (WPP) aims to establish its chapters in all major cities of every country.
The chapter of World Parkinson's Program can be started by,

THE MAJOR FUNCTION of each chapter is to provide Parkinson's disease educational brochures in local languages to patients and caregivers during clinical visits in order to educate them about various aspects of Parkinson's disease.
THE MAIN GOAL of each chapter is to enhance the knowledge of patients and caregivers about Parkinson's disease, which leads to improvement of quality of life of patients and caregivers.
The chapters are the integral part of World Parkinson's Program. The Following is the list of other roles of the chapters:
- Providing other literature and educational information about Parkinson’s disease to patients, caregivers, healthcare workers, local hospitals, polyclinics, senior centers, community or public places, adult daycare centers and outpatient clinics.
- Securing attention of public and media about activities and resources of World Parkinson's Program, participating in the Parkinson's Education Campaign of World Parkinson's Program, and advocating for those who are directly or indirectly afflicted with Parkinson's disease.
- Working in cooperation with the local Parkinson’s associations to organize various programs.
Each chapter has same goals and objectives and director of each chapter is a volunteer individual who is dedicated to promote the awareness of Parkinson’s disease.
Each chapter is known by the Name of practice and location.There may be multiple chapters in one city.
The director of each chapter is nominated by the central executive committee (CEC) of the program and they continue functioning in that capacity as long as the CEC is satisfied with their roles.
The director of each chapter works to facilitate the mission of World Parkinson's Program.
The director of a chapter is able to use all material of Parkinson's Program, without any alteration, for educational purposes.
The director of a chapter may work with local Parkinson's Association acting as representative of World Parkinson's Program.
The directors of chapters of World Parkinson's Program are encouraged to attend the support group meetings and give lectures about Parkinson's disease when invited by a local Parkinson's Associations.
The names of directors along with the chapter address are posted on the website of World Parkinson's Program.
